Jean Wall Moore - Class Of 1915

DR. JEAN W. MOORE, 81, Danville died March 6, 1979 at his home. He was a 1915 graduate of Olney Township High School.

Upon retirement last year, he was the oldest practicing physician in Vermillion County, and had missed only one regular day's work in 52 years of practice, according to an article in the Danville Commercial News.

Dr. Moore was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. D.P. Moore of Olney. He was born September 12, 1897 in Fairfield, Illinois and grew up in Olney, where he won varsity letters in four sports at OTHS.

Moore and his first wife, the former Marjorie Spring, were married 55 years. She died in 1976. they had six children, five of whom survive. Last Dec. 29th he married his office nurse of 27 years, the former Mrs. Miriam Gray, a widow.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter, four sons, 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services and burial in Danville, Illinois.
