Paul O. Markman, 64, of La Jolla, California died Wednesday December 8, 1965 at a hospital.

Markman was born December 5, 1901 in Crawford County Illinois, the son of Reverend Otto L. and Hulda K. (Busefink) Markman.

Markman, a former Lieutenant General in the Army, was a veteran of World War II and a holder of the Legion of Merit.

The native of Illinois was vice president of an advertising agency here for 25 years.

He is survived by his widow, Madeline (McKay) Markman and a sister, Esther McCreery.
