Iris Ridgely Jacobus, 97, of Olney died Monday, June 30, 2003 in Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney.  Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home, Olney.  Burial in Moravian Cemetery, West Salem, with Larry Weber officiating.

Mrs. Jacobus was born Nov. 14, 1905, in Richland County, the daughter of Grant and Stella Ridgely Bogard.

She was a homemaker and affiliated with Elm Street Christian Church, Olney. She was a member of Macon and Richland Counties Women's Democrat Clubs and charter member of Richland County Historical Society.

She married Robert Jacobus on Oct. 31, 1925. He preceded her in death Feb. 23, 1984.

Surviving are her niece, Mary Lee Arndt of Chicago; many great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Ana.
