Byron Hanes Scherer, 90, of Delta, Colorado, formerly of Olney died Monday January 23, 1995 at his home.  Interment in Pasadena, California.

Scherer was born June 28, 1904 in Olney, the son of Chris and Dicie (Hanes) Scherer. He married Elizabeth Lovell in 1931 and she died in 1978. He married Donna Vonderhoovan Watts June 25, 1978.

He was a retired professor from a Lutheran College in California.

He is survived by his wife, of Delta; two sons, Rev. David Scherer of Treynor, Iowa and Dr. Milo Scherer of San Bernardino, Calif.; a step-daughter of Delta; a sister, Edna O. Scherer of Olney; a brother, Raymond Bernard Scherer of Delta; six grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

Scherer was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, a daughter, a son and two sisters.
