Catherine Conner (Knerr) - Class Of 1924

Catherine Margaret (Conner) Knerr, 88, of State College, Pennsylvania died Sunday, September 10, 1995 at Centre Community Hospital.

She was born March 20, 1907 in Olney, Illinois daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Conner. On June 17, 1929 she married Henry William Knerr, who died June 6, 1975.

Mrs. Knerr received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois in 1929. She went on to become a volunteer at Schlow Memorial Library, State College, where she served on the board of directors and was active in State College Girl Scouting, serving as commissioner.

She was a member of the State College Presbyterian Church, a past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, State College, a long-time member of Delta Zeta Sorority and a member of the Penn State Faculty Women’s Club.

Surviving is a daughter, Lisabeth K. Poore; one son, Anthony D. Knerr; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Burial in Centre County Memorial Park, State College, Pa.
