Fred Arthur Koertge, 89 of Refugio, Texas, a teacher, elected in 1970 as Industrial Arts Teacher of the Year by Texas Industrial Arts, and a member of First United Methodist Church, died Oct. 16, 1994.

Survivors include two daughters, Carole Randolph of Victoria and Kay Hodge of Virginia Beach, Va.; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services at First United Methodist Church. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery.
