Katie Anderson Blackford, 89, of Olney, died Thursday, May 20, 1993, at Richland Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney, with the Rev. Jerry Cowman officiating. Burial at Crest Haven Cemetery near Claremont.

Mrs. Blackford was born April 23, 1904 in Richland County, the daughter of Walter and Sarah (Riggs) Myers. She married Floyd Anderson on Dec. 31, 1927, and he preceded her in death in 1964. She then married Raymond Blackford on July 29, 1971 in Rankin.

Mrs. Blackford taught school for 28 years in the West Richland School District. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Church in Olney.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Blackford of Olney; three sons, Robert, Gerald and Neil Anderson all of Olney; one daughter, Juanita Long of Griffith, Ind.; one step-son, Dean Blackford of Rankin; four step-daughters, Wanda Hasler of Cape Coral, Fla.; Wilma Wickenhouser, Betty Frichtl and Ruby Frichtl, all of Paxton; one brother, Charles Myers of Tellico Plains, Tenn.; one sister, Esther Wilson of Dundas; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Blackford was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, four brothers and three sisters.
