Hammel Haynes Jr., 69, of Kissimmee, Fla., died Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Osceola Regional Hospital in Florida.

Hammel Haynes Jr., known by most as “Junior,” was born July 26, 1941, in St. Peter, Ill. He was the son of Hammel and Alta (Mattix) Haynes. He married Marcene Noble on May 30, 1959. She passed away October 11, 1994.

Survivors include two daughters, Debbie McKeen, of Orinda, Calif., and Darla Marie, of Encino, Calif., and one son, James Darryl Haynes and his wife, Delia, of Boston, Mass. He is also survived by several grandchildren, Tara Bordonaro and her husband, Justin, Kelly McKeen, Kyle McKeen, Conner Haynes and C.J. Haynes, and one great-granddaughter, Ava Bordonaro. He is also survived by two brothers, Lyle Hayes, of Houston, Texas, and Larry Haynes, of Chicago, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wayne Haynes; wife, and a daughter, Donna Sue Haynes – February 7, 1962-July 22, 1963.

He grew up in Olney and attended East Richland High School. He moved to California after he married Marcene and they lived there until their children were grown. He retired From Gus K. Newberg Construction Company and was living in Kissimmee, Fla., at the time of his death.
