Victim Identified in Fatal Crash

Kaua‘i Police Department has released the name of the woman who died in Tuesday’s fatal crash in Princeville.

Jaime Lyn Rogers, 35, of Kapa‘a, Hawaii was driving north on Kuhio Highway near the Kapaka Street junction at about 10:15 a.m. when her green Ford SUV was rear-ended by a white Ford pickup truck.  The driver of the pickup truck, a 43-year-old Kalaheo man, sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment.

Jaime Lyn Rogers, 35 of Kapa'a, Hawaii, formerly of Crestone, Colo., and Olney, Ill., died Tuesday morning, May 1, 2012, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital in Lihue, Hawaii, as the result of that automobile accident.

Cremation took place Wednesday morning, May 9, 2012, at Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home. A time of remembrance for family and friends held at Hope Chapel in Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery in rural Calhoun, east of Olney. Reverend David McNabb will officiate a memorial service followed by a graveside committal and inurnment in Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.

Jaime was born in Olney, Ill., on August 19, 1976. She attended elementary school and middle school in Olney. During her high school years she moved to Viola, Wis., and lived with her sister, Lisa Schnepper, and her family where she attended Kickapoo High School. She graduated in 1994. She graduated from the Academy of Massage Therapy in Phoenix, Ariz., and moved to Crestone, Colo. She moved to Hawaii in January 2010.

She is survived by her adoptive mother, Beverly J. Rogers, of Olney, Ill., and her brother, Michael C. (Madeleine) Rogers of Livingston, Montana. Also surviving are seven older sisters and two brothers. She was an awesome "Aunt Jaime" to 12 nephews and eight nieces.

She was preceded in death by her beloved "Daddy" Walter Rogers Jr., of Olney; Sharon Steele Rogers, of Olney; grandparents, Walter and Geneva Rogers and Lester and Lucille Steele, all of Olney.
