DICK VOIGT, POPULAR H.S. STUDENT, DIES:

Richard Ernest Voigt, aged 15, died suddenly Monday night (September 21, 1936) at the family home on East Elm Street. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. O.B. Voigt.

Death came as a result of a few days illness of poliomyelitis, or acute infantile paralysis. Although not feeling well, he had attended school all five days last week.

Dick, as he was known to a host of friends, was a fine upstanding young man, an outstanding student - he was a Junior in high school - a member of the foot ball squad and a Boy Scout.

Surviving him are his parents; one brother, Barney, who is attending U of I; two sisters, LeVona and Marjorie, school teachers at Shabbona and Willow Hill, respectively, and his grandfather, H.G. Hitch of Terre Haute.

Funeral services at the Porter-Schaub Chapel and Haven Hill Cemetery. Rev. J.B. Farrell, pastor of the Presbyterian church, of which Dick was a member, presided.
