Evelyn Shafer Gillen, 92, died May 2, 1999 at Memorial Mother Frances Hospital in Palestine, Texas.  Services and burial in Noble.

Mrs. Gillen was a lifelong resident of Noble and a member of the First Christian Church of Noble.

She is survived by two sons, Jim Gillen of Palestine, Texas and Herb Gillen of Columbus, Ohio; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Gillen was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, two sisters, her husband, Herbert Gillen and one son, Dick Gillen.
