Bernadine S. Johnson, 87, of Olney, died Tuesday June 13, 1995 at Richland Memorial Hospital.  Services at Zirkle Funeral Home in Olney, with Rev. Garin Cycholl officiating. Burial in the Pinewood Cemetery in West Point, Ga.

Johnson was born Aug. 16, 1907 in Olney, the daughter of Robert and Clara (Burgener) Scherer. She married Jamie Johnson. He preceded her in death.

She was retired from U.S. Postal Service in Washington, D.C. She was a member of First United Church of Christ in Olney, past member of Richland County Home Extension, a member of Olney Garden Club and a member of Heritage Museum.

She is survived by one brother, John Scherer, of Lawrenceville and 11 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother and one sister.
