Allen Yount, 74, Naples, Fla. former publisher of the Olney Daily Mail died Wednesday December 31, 1980 at Shell Point Nursing Pavilion, Ft. Myers, Fla.  Services at Summers Funeral Home with Rev. R.E. Dowden officiating. Interment in Haven Hill Cemetery.

He was born in Olney November 18, 1906 to Lozier Yount and Myrtle McCauley Yount. On August 5, 1930, he married Bernice Jordan.

Surviving are his wife, Bernice; a son, Dan Yount, Chesterfield, Mo.; two daughters, Mrs Sara Remus, Lake Forest and Paula Yount, New York City, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; a sister, Martha Allie, St. Louis, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The Younts formerly lived at 626 S. Elliott St., Olney. In recent months they have made their home in Naples, Fla.

Mr. Yount was owner and publisher of the Olney Daily Mail from 1933 until his retirement in early 1979.
