Serena Zuber - Class Of 1923

Serena E. "Rena" Zuber, 96, of Aurora, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2001 at Provena McAuley Manor in Aurora.  Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Ste. Marie.

She was born September 16, 1904 in West Liberty, Illinois, the daughter of the late Samuel and Josephine (Yost) Zuber.

Serena was employed in the accounting department at Northern Illinois Gas Co. for over 40 years. She retired in 1968. She loved to travel. Her travels took her to China, the Panama Canal, the Grand Canyon, Hawaii; as well as, other places both in the United States and abroad. Serena was a member of St. Rita of Cascia Church in Aurora; as well as, St. Mary Church of the Assumption in St. Marie, Illinois.

Serena is survived by her sister, Loretta Zuber of St. Marie, Illinois; as well as, nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Serena was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Jerome Zuber and four sisters, Estella Parisot, Clara Zuber, Mary Cunningham and Bernetta V. Zuber.
