Martha E. Dean, 101, of Olney, died Wednesday, February 2, 2005, at Burgin Manor in Olney. Mrs. Dean was born on February 22, 1903, in Olney, the daughter of John D. and Emma (Landenberger) Richardson. She married Silas G. Dean on June 26, 1926. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1957.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Olney, where she taught Sunday School. She was a long-time member of P.E.O., was active in Bridgeport Women's Club and was a Brownie Scout leader. She was an accomplished artist and seamstress. She was a resident of Bridgeport from 1926 to 1960, when she returned to Olney to live.

Mrs. Dean is survived by a daughter, Mona Robinson and her husband, John, of Bloomington, Ind.; and three grandsons, Larry C. Robinson, Mark D. Robinson and his wife, Sue, and Bruce A. Robinson, all of Bloomington, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, six brothers, including George L. Richardson Sr. and Carl Richardson of Olney, and three sisters, including Mary C. Richardson of Olney.
