Edith Frances (Gray) Reed, 91, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Saturday, March 23, 1996 at Friendship Village, of natural causes.

She was born September 30, 1904 in Richland County Illinois daughter of Robert L. and Lena M. (Van Gilder) Gray. She married Dr. Howard O. Reed on April 8, 1928 in Olney, Illinois; he died in December 1989.

Mrs. Reed attended Eastern Illinois State Teachers College and was an elementary school teacher in Richland County, Newton, Bloomington and Normal, all in Illinois.

Survivors include one son, Rex H. Reed, Vienna, Va.; one daughter, Patricia A. Gallagher, Monmouth, Ore.; one brother, Jack Gray, Claremont; eleven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois J. O'Marah.

A memorial service at First Christian Church, Cedar Falls. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church of Cedar Falls or Alzheimers Association.

Her body was donated to University of Iowa College of Medicine, Iowa City.
