Theodore Fritchey - Class Of 1923

Theodore A. Fritchey, 62, retired Champaign contractor and developer, died at Burnham City Hospital April 19, 1967 where he had been a patient nine weeks.  Funeral services at Renner Wikoff Chapel with Rev. A.F. Tuck officiating.  Burial in East Lawn Cemetery.

Mr. Fritchey was born October 6, 1904 in Claremont, Illinois, son of Amos A. and Nellie Murray Fritchey.  He married Marie Antonow who died in 1945.  He later married Phyllis Murray.

A Champaign-Urbana resident since 1922, Mr. Fritchey first attended school at Olney Township High School and then attended the University of Illinois.

In World War II, he served in the Navy's submarine service.  As a contractor and developer, Mr. Fritchey was one of the first in the area to start subdivisions in southwest Champaign.

Surviving are two sons, Theodore J. and Robert W., and two sisters, Mrs. Earl Beaird and Mrs. Frank Hull all of Champaign-Urbana.

Mr. Fritchey was a member of Claremont Methodist Church and the following organizations; Optimist Club, Amvets, American Legion and Elks Lodge.
