Genelle B. Lathrop, 82, 207A N. Lincoln, Olney died Monday March 10, 1986 in Burgin Manor East. Services at Summers Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Fry presiding. Burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Lathrop was born March 10, 1904 in Olney, the daughter of Jacob and Lillie (Irwin) Shadle. She married Grover Tucker in 1927 and he died in 1961. She then married Bill Lathrop in 1964 and he preceded her in death in 1969.

She was a retired school teacher, having taught at Central, Grass Valley, Whitacre, Kimmel and Oak Grove schools. She taught first and second grade at Calhoun the last 19 years before her retirement in 1966.

She was a member of Elm Street Christian Church, Richland County HEA, Farm Bureau and Retired Teachers Association.

Survivors include a son, Donald Tucker, Olney; a step-son, Donovan Lathrop, Lockport; a step-daughter, Marjorie Gardner, Olney; a sister, Lucille Schernekau, Robinson; six nieces and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husband, two brothers and three sisters.
