Catherine (Runyon) Brown, 88, formerly of Olney, died Saturday October 31, 1992 at Carle Arbors Nursing Home in Savoy, IL. Mrs. Brown was born August 14, 1904 in Mt. Erie, the daughter of George and Gwendolyn (Totten) Runyon. She married Leo Brown December 25, 1926. He preceded her in death April 3, 1972.

Mrs. Brown was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Olney and past member of Community Homemakers. She taught school in Olney and Richland County for several years, retiring in 1945.

Mrs. Brown is survived by one son, George M. Brown of Richmond, Ky.; one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Leola) Otis of Champaign; one brother Earl Wayne Runyon of Wood River; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and seveal nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter and two brothers.

Funeral services at Zirkle Funeral Home with Rev. Burl J. Shinkle and Harry J. Curry officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.
