Mabel Mehmert (Sedlack) - Class Of 1922

Mabel Marie Sedlack, 94, of Greenville, Texas died Monday, May 31, 1999 at Briarcliff Health Center. Funeral mass at St. William's Catholic Church with Rev. Douglas Deshotel officiating. Burial in Memoryland Memorial Park.

Born Aug. 17, 1904 in Olney, Ill., she was the daughter of Edward Henry Mehmert and Julia Vogt Mehmert. She married Ervin J. Sedlack in 1941.

She attended St. Mary's of the Woods University in Indiana from 1922 to 1924 and graduated from De Paul University with a bachelor's degree in music.

Mrs. Sedlack was an organist in the silent movies and was a teacher of music with the Wurlitzer School of Music. She was a member of St. William's Catholic Church of Greenville.

Surviving are a sister, Eugenia Mehmert of Greenville; sister-in-law Helen Mehmert Bauman of Greenville; niece Cecelia Langford of Houston; nephew Michael H. Mehmert of Evergreen, Colo.; grandniece, Kristen Mehmert and grandnephews, Brandon Mehmert and Michael Mehmert.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Dr. Henry E. Mehmert.
