Mary Ellen (Holmes) Boley, 87, of Olney died at United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville on Tuesday, May 6, 1991.

Mrs. Boley was born July 29, 1903 in Richland County, the daughter of Oscar David and Ella (Johnson) Holmes. She married Ross Boley on Aug. 21, 1948. He preceded her in death on Oct. 19, 1969.

Mrs. Boley was a retired teacher in Richland County, where she had taught for 32 years, was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Retired Teachers Association and Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include one step-son, Howard Boley, and his wife Katie from Olney; and two step-granddaughters, Rena Boley and Kassie Jackson, both of Olney.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
