Winona Farris (Schonert) - Class Of 1922

Winona Wilson Schonert, 99, of Olney died Monday May 19, 2003 at Burgin Manor in Olney. Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Rev. Kenneth Bissey and Rev. Don Watson officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney.

Mrs. Schonert was born on July 21, 1903 in Richland County, the daughter of William H. and Maude (Runyon) Farris. She married Donald A. Wilson. He preceded her in death. She later married Harry E. Schonert. He preceded her in death.

She was a 1922 graduate of Olney Township High School and a former teacher in Olney schools. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and a member of World War I Veterans Auxiliary, Home Extension Association and Community Widow's Club.

Mrs. Schonert is survived by two sons, Kenneth O. Wilson and his wife, Thelma K. of Belleville and Farrell Eugene (Gene) Wilson and his wife, June R. of Belleville; a step-son, Wayne A. Schonert and his wife, Myrna of Olney; a step-daughter, Marie Gillard and her husband, Clayton of Streator; a sister, Martha Hinkel and her husband, Woodrow of Olney; four grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and 17 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; three sisters, LaVerne Reaugh, Bessie Henry and Leona Harmon and two brothers, Farrell and Telford Farris.
