Gladys Irene Murray, 90, of Olney died Friday May 21, 1993 at Memorial Medical Hospital in Springfield. Funeral services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with the Rev. Mark C., Myers officiating. Burial in North Freedom Cemetery.

Mrs. Murray was born March 7, 1903 in Richland County, the daughter of Homer F. and Nettie (Isley) Diel. She married Lester Murray June 20, 1923 in Olney. He preceded her in death Nov. 3, 1976.

Mrs. Murray was a retired teacher from Taylor School, south of Noble. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Olney.

Mrs. Murray is survived by one son, Hubert C. Murray of Olney; one daughter, Mrs. Leonard (Zola Gail) King of Champaign; one brother, Oscar Diel of Long Beach, Calif.; one sister, Zola Fitzgerald of Napa, Calif.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Murray was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister.
