Charles Warren - Class Of 1922

Charles J. Warren, 69 of Taylor, Texas, formerly of Newton and West Liberty, died December 13, 1972 in John's Community Hospital , Taylor. Funeral services and burial in the Texas city.

Mr. Warren was born February 17, 1903 in Wakefield, a son of John and Louise (Eberhardt) Warren former West Liberty residents.

He graduated from the Olney Township High School in 1922 and was a football player while in high school.

On June 9, 1926 he married Dorothy Daubs of Richland County, a former nurse at the Olney Sanitarium, who survives.

Mr. Warren, while residing in West Liberty, was manager of the Warren Store, a general merchandise store which the Warren family operated there for several decades.

He later served with his brother, the late E.R. Warren of Newton, as distributor for Texaco, Inc. in Jasper County. For the past 35 years, he was owner of Warren Tire and Supply Company in Taylor, Texas.

Mr. Warren was a member of the First United Methodist Church and of the Masonic Lodge in the Texas city.

Surviving, besides his wife, are a daughter, Mrs. Charlene Booth of Austin, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. William (Blanche) Hines of Oaklawn, Ill. and Mrs. J.E. (Lena) Hunt of Palmetto, Fla.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, George E. and E.R. Warren, and a sister, Eva Heilman of Palmetto, Fla.

In the 1930's, Mr. and Mrs. Warren lived at 219 East Chestnut St., Olney, for a few years.
