Howard Thomas Sutherland, aged 76, of Twin Peaks, California, beloved husband of almost 50 years of Lorraine (O'Banion) Sutherland, died August 11, 1980. He was born September 6, 1903 in Olney, Illinois son of John Houston and Mabel M. (Wing) Sutherland.

Howard was formerly a division attorney for Marathon Oil Co., living many years in Alhambra, Cal.

He leaves a daughter, Patricia Sutherland Peters of Ventura; sons, James Howard Sutherland of New Jersey, John E. Sutherland of Idaho and four grandchildren and brother, John Burl Sutherland.

He was preceded in death by brother, George William Sutherland and sisters, Sue Elizabeth Sutherland and Mabel Mae Sutherland Bell.
