Services for Oscar E. Runyon, 79, who died Thursday February 4, 1982 in Richland Memorial Hospital will be in the Summers Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Burcham presiding.  Burial in Moravian Cemetery in West Salem.

Mr Runyon was born Nov. 14, 1902 in Wayne County, the son of George and Gwendoline M. (Totton) (sic) Runyon. He married Alice Lucinda Knackmuhs April 19, 1929 and she preceded in him death April 6, 1978.

He was a retired laborer, and was affiliated with West Main Congregational Christian Church.

Survivors include four sons, Charles E., Phillipine Islands; Leo, and Donald R., both of Olney; and Richard W. Runyon, Mattoon; two daughters, Evelyn Ahlfield, Olney; and Carrie Rosalie Laughlin, Lawrenceville; a brother, Earl Wayne Runyon, Woodriver; a sister, Mrs. Leo (Catherine) Brown, Olney; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a brother George.
