Walter O. Edmiston - Class Of 1922

Walter Edmiston, 76, formerly of 621 S. Morgan St., Olney, and for several years a resident of the United Methodist Village at Lawrenceville, died Thursday morning May 25, 1978 at Carle Clinic in Champaign.

He was born in Los Angeles, Calif., son of Charles N. and Laura Edmiston. On November 14, 1922 he was married to Tressie Gayer and she died December 18, 1971.

Mr. Edmiston was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Olney. He was a painter and decorator and was caretaker of the First United Methodist Church for several years.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Sullivan of Peoria; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister, Mrs. Edward (Helen) Neil of Silver Springs, Md.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Lee Edmiston; and three brothers, Dr. Glen Edmiston, Dr. Hugh Edmiston and Kenneth Edmiston.

Services at Summers Funeral Home with interment in Haven Hill Cemetery.
