Amy Louise Fletcher - Class Of 1921

Amy Fletcher, 77, 327 W. Butler St., Olney was found dead Friday morning January 8, 1981 at her home.  Services at the Zirkle Funeral Home with pastor Vernon Gibb officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.

She was born November 10, 1903 in Richland County, daughter of William H. and Jennie Evalina Brown Fletcher.

She was a school teacher in Richland County for 50 years, mostly in kindergarten. She was also a part time library employee, having served in all positions at the local library, including head librarian.

Miss Fletcher was director of the public school story hour for 25 years and also taught the public library story hour.  She retired from teaching in the public schools in 1972, but continued her work at the library on a part time basis and in 1977 became assistant librarian.

A member of the Congregational Christian Church of Olney, she was also a member of Goodwill Rebekah Lodge in which she had held all chairs, as well as serving appointive positions in the Rebekah State Assembly.

Surviving are several cousins, including Virginia Wyatt, Mesa, Ariz.; Kathryn Hunt, Olney; Dorothy Fritschle, Olney.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William Fletcher Jr.
