Donald Larue Highsmith, 61, of Olney died Tuesday June 13, 2006.

Funeral services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with Jim McKinney officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney with full military rites conducted by Olney veterans.

Mr. Highsmith was born on December 23, 1944 in Olney, the son of Ralph and Nina Belle (Ashby) Highsmith. He married Catherine Snyder on February 18, 1994. He worked at the shoe factory, in the oil field and was a part-time farmer. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Highsmith of Olney; daughter, Kristina Henton and her husband, Jason of Olney; brother, Ronald Highsmith of Chesterfield, Va.; granddaughter, Makenzie and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Highsmith was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter.
