Barbara Donahue (Storer)

Mrs. Barbara Jean Storer, 21, of 503 North Fair Street, died yesterday afternoon as a result of injuries received in a head-on collision Christmas Day, 1962,  northwest of Olney at 3:45 p.m.

Her husband Harold Storer, 23 is in "poor" condition this morning at Richland Memorial Hospital.  Storer was the driver of one of the cars involved.  The driver of the other car, Ronald Bickers of Route 6, Olney, is in "fairly good condition," according to hospital officials.

In "fair" condition is Valeta Storer, 14, Noble; and in "good" condition is Jerry Irene Lathrop, 18, Route 3, Olney.  Both were passengers in the Storer car. Carl L. Storer, 18, also a passenger in the Storer automobile was treated and released at the Hospital Emergency Room.

The investigating State Trooper stated that Bickers said that he was driving about 30 to 35 m.p.h. and that he did not see the Storer car until it was too late.  Bickers was driving west on a gravel road three miles north and a half mile west of Olney.  Storer was traveling east.  Bickers also stated that he thought he was on his side of the road.  The collision occurred near the center of the road approximately 97 feet from the crest of the hill on which the two were driving.  The investigating officer said that the impact was apparently head on.  The Bickers car pushed the Storer car down the hill backwards, turning it around.  Storer's car came to a halt approximately 50 feet west of the point of impact, Bickers' approximately 74 feet from the same point.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Barbara Jean Storer is survived by her mother, Mrs. Freda Donahue of Olney.  Her father, Russell, also survive.
