Robert D. Atwood, 52, of Olney, died Monday August 10, 1992 as a result of an automobile accident.  Funeral services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home. Burial in Travers Cemetery in Mt. Erie.

Mr. Atwood was born July 24, 1940 in Wayne County, the son of William and Rachel (Gardner) Atwood. He married Edna Myrl Parks and then he married Velma Ray.

Mr. Atwood worked in purchasing at Richland Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Atwood is survived by one son, Robert Atwood Jr., Sacramento, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Kevin (Marsha) Harper, Lansing, Mich., Mrs. Clifford (Alice) Cochran, Altamont, Janice Frazier, Shelbyville, Ind.; three brothers, Lowell Atwood, Olney, Joe Atwood, Mt. Erie and Donald Atwood, Fairfield; four sisters, Mrs. Donald (Joan) Simmons, Mt. Erie, Mrs. Mike (Violet) Merrick, Geff, Mrs. Herb (Martha) Street, Allendale and Mrs. Bob (Mary) Smith, Uniontown, Ky. and five grandchildren.

Mr. Atwood was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
