Mary Gertrude Newcomb, 29, Castle Rock, Colo. and formerly of Olney died Saturday April 9, 1988 in Swedish Medical Center, Englewood, Colo.

Funeral services at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney with the Rev. Father Chris Hill presiding. Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Mrs. Newcomb was born September 27, 1958 in Olney, the daughter of Charles R. and Elizabeth Ann (Gassmann) Vaughn. She married Richard M. Newcomb II on April 4, 1987 in Franktown, Ohio, and he survives.

She was a registered nurse and a member of the Nurses of Colorado. She was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Elizabeth Livengood Newcomb, at home; her father, Charles R. Vaughn of Olney; five brothers, Brad Vaughn and Ray Vaughn, both of Olney, John Vaughn, Springfield, Frank Vaughn, San Francisco, Calif. and Allen Vaughn, Claremont; three sisters, Ann Decker, St. Louis, Mo., Carol Schafer, Newton and Kathleen Vaughn, New York City, N.Y.; paternal grandmother, Marie Vaughn, Olney; maternal grandmother, Gertrude Gassmann of Olney and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her mother.
