Genarl  Layton “Dick” Ferren, 86 passed away January 10, 1997. He was born October 20, 1911 son of  Earnest L. and Bethel (Parker) Ferren. He married Carrie M. Phillips on November 24, 1938 in Lawrenceville, Illinois and she survives.

Genarl was employed as a salesman for Clyde King at the furniture store.

He is survived by a son, Robert Ferren of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Burial in Mount Hope Cemetery & Mausoleum, Urbana, Illinois.
