Mabel Powell (McKinney) - Class Of 1929

Mabel M. McKinney, 81, of Ka-Ho Lakes, Mt. Olive, formerly of Olney and Decatur, died Saturday March 28, 1992 at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.  Funeral services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with Rev. Paul H. Prater officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. McKinney was born October 14, 1910 in Lawrence County, the daughter of Levi and Katiebell (Boyd) Powell. She married Wayne W. McKinney August 23, 1950 in Decatur.

She and her husband owned and operated the Decatur Cocktail Lounge. She had worked at International Shoe Factory in Olney. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Olney.

Mrs. McKinney is survived by her husband, Wayne W. McKinney of Mt. Olive; one brother, Ernest A. Powell of Melbourne, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. Melvin (Garnett) Streitz of St. Louis, Mo. and one sister-in-law, Lula Powell of Olney.

Mrs. McKinney was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ira Powell.
