One Dead, Three Hurt in Crash

Rudolph L. Parker, 28, prominent San Marcos, Texas resident and produce buyer, died Sunday night, December 25, 1938 of a broken neck received in a highway collision four miles south of San Marcos on the San Antonio Highway.

Three other persons were seriously injured in the crash which occurred in a driving rain. With Parker was Erkel Tuttle, 24 also of San Marcos, who received serious head injuries. S.P. Leverett, San Marcos, district court reporter in the Twenty-second judicial district, and his wife were the other victims. Leverett was cut and bruised. Mrs. Leverett received a broken leg and other injuries which were reported as serious. They were going toward San Antonio and the Parker car was driving north.

Parker is survived by his mother and father, Luther and Edna M. (Zimmerle) Parker of San Marcos, and by two sisters, Mrs. Dolores Parker of Lockhart and Mrs. Bill Connolly, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Funeral arrangements have not been completed. Burial in San Marcos City Cemetery.
