William E.B. Smith, 68, Lawrenceville died Tuesday July 24, 1979 at the I.U. Hospital in Indianapolis.  Services at the Presbyterian Church in Lawrenceville with Rev. Shane O'Neill officiating. Burial in Lawrenceville City Cemetery.

Mr. Smith was born on April 29, 1911 in Edgewood, son of William E. and Mamie (Byers) Smith. He married Ella May Martin on Sept. 10, 1932.

Survivors include his wife, one son Martin, Lawrenceville, one daughter, Dolores Bond, Birmingham, Ala., two brothers, Ben, Corpus Christi, Texas and Rev. Clifford Smith, Mt. Pulaski, three sisters, Thelma McClain and Neva Pipher both of Olney and Ina Koertge, Refugeo, Texas, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Clyde.

Mr. Smith was owner and operator of Smith Sales, Inc. in Lawrenceville for 35 years. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Elks.
