Minnie G. Smith (Wilmeth)

Minnie Golda (Smith) Wilmeth, 87, of Bloomington, Illinois died early Sunday morning, January 12, 1997 at Scotchwood Health Care Center, Bloomington. Graveside funeral held at Mount Olive Cemetery, Mayview. Kibler-Smith Memorial Home, Bloomington handling arrangements.

Survivors include one son, Micky Wilmeth, Bloomington; one step-daughter, Kathleen Heinesch, Rockford, Tenn; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

She was born October 13, 1909 at Harville, Missouri, the daughter of Jared and Mary (Kilbreath) Smith. (According to the 1920 Richland County Census the Smith family lived on N West St in Olney during that period). She married Raymond L. Wilmeth in 1930 and he preceded her in death in 1940.

Mrs. Wilmeth was a former resident at Phoenix Towers and a member of First United Methodist Church, Normal.

She was a retired supervisor at the former Illinois Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Children’s School. She previously was employed at Huling Home in Rantoul.

Mrs. Wilmeth dedicated her life to helping young people.
