Vena W. Fisher, 93, of Olney died Saturday December 27, 2003 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.  Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Reverend Gordon Elliott and Reverend Wayne Shipley officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney.

Mrs. Fisher was born on February 26, 1910 in Richland County, the daughter of Everett and Anna (Lambert) Shipley. She married John Norvon Fisher on June 17, 1932 in Olney. He preceded her in death on August 4, 1970.

She was a retired bookkeeper for Pure Oil Bulk Plant and a lifelong member of First Church of Olney.

Mrs. Fisher is survived by three daughters, Karon McVaigh and her husband, Eugene of Olney, Lois Eckiss and her husband, Richard of Olney and Elizabeth "Beth" VanMatre and her husband, Billy of Rinard; two sisters, Ruby Kinkade of Franklin, Ind. and Kathleen Larsen and her husband, John of Lopez Island, Calif.; a brother, Wayne Shipley and his wife, Martha of Carlinville; and 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, J.C., a brother and two sisters.
