Agnes L. Schmoker, 78, Olney died Monday April 25, 1988 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.  Services at Zirkle Funeral Home with the Rev. Ruth W. Baechle officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Schmoker was born February 22, 1910 in Preston Township, the daughter of Robert and Clara (Burgener) Scherer. She married Everett Schmoker on October 12, 1943 in Florence, S.C. and he survives.

Mrs. Schmoker was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Olney. She was also a member of the Olney Garden Club, the Illinois State Genealogical Society, the Richland County Genealogical and Historical Society. Mrs. Schmoker was immediate past secretary and membership chairman of the Richland Heritage Museum Foundation.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Schmoker is survived by two sons, Dan of Springfield and John of Sherman, Texas; a daughter, Janet Sisson of Seattle, Wash.; a brother, John Scherer of Effingham; a sister, Bernadine Johnson of Olney; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Schmoker was preceded in death by an infant brother and by another brother.
