Forrest Koertge

Forrest "Jack" Koertge, 61, of Rt. 4, Sumner, passed away at his home Monday, July 19, 1971 as the result of an apparent heart attack.  Funeral services at the Sivert Funeral Home in Sumner with Rev. Louis Frick of Olney officiating. Burial in Waggoner cemetery near Chauncey.

He was born August 23, 1909 in Richland County, son of Wesley G. and Nora Jackson Koertge, both of whom are deceased. He was a farmer and a retired grade school teacher. He was a member of the Chauncey United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Carmen Paddick Koertge and the following children: Miss Noretta Koertge of Bloomington, Ind., Mrs. Karen Jajbl of Glassboro, N.J., Forrest Jackson Jr. of Claremont and Karl Koertge of Sumner. There are seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild is deceased.

Two sisters, Mrs. Eda Breyfogle of Lawrenceville, Mrs. Leah Berry of Taylorville and a brother, William Koertge of Collinsville, also survive.
