Louvre Weagel (Hasler)

Louvre Hasler, formerly of St. Louis, passed away March 9, 2006, at the age of 98 years.

Louvre was born on November 19, 1907 in Richland County, IL to Joseph F. and Louisa (nee Keen) Weagle, one of four children. She married Vernon B. Hasler in May 1931 and had two daughters.

Louvre spent most of her life in Illinois and was a member of the Illinois Retired Teacher Association; retiring after 42 years of teaching and as a principal. She "Wanted to educate the world" and was involved in educating children in school and through her church, Lemay Church of Christ.

She enjoyed painting, was a long time member of PTA, and loved children. Louvre is survived by one daughter, Barbara Schulze and husband Albert of St. Clair, MO, two grandsons, Brian J. Smith and A. Brian Schulze, three great-grandchildren, Justin and Carlie Smith, and A.J. Schulze, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Henry and William Weagle, one sister, Geneva Judy and an infant daughter. There will be no services for Louvre, but even in death, it was her desire to be involved in education, donating her body to science through Washington University.
