Richard Provines

Richard K. Provines, age 53, of 725 N. Morgan St., husband of Mildred Provines, passed away this morning April 27, 1963, at Richland memorial Hospital, following a short illness.

He was a well-known and highly respected educator, and at the time of his death was Assistant Superintendent of the East Richland Community Unit Schools Dist. No. 1. He has been a school teacher and school principal.

Mr. Provines was one of Olney's most outstanding citizens, having been active in many civic affaris. He was especially prominent and energetic as a member of the Olney Immanuel Evangelical United Brethren Church.

Besides his wife Mildred; he is survived by two sons, Dr. Richard Lee Provines, Seattle, Washington; Joe Allen Provines, student at S.I.U., Carbondale; daughter, Mrs. Ted (Shirley) Beagle, of Olney; brothers, Max Provines, Rt. 1, Calhoun, Percy R. Provines, Olney, Forrest M. Provines, Rt. 4, Olney;  sister, Mrs. Forrest (Fern) Leist, Rt. 1, Calhoun; his mother, Mrs. Eli (Cora) Provines, living in Bonpas Twp.; five grandchildren. His father Eli, and one brother, Opal M., preceded him in death.

Funeral services in the Immanuel Evangelical United Brethren Church with the Rev. Joseph A. White officiating. Interment in Crest Haven Cemetery.
