Charles Howard Wood, age 83, died Thursday, March 3, 1994 at Flora Care Center, Flora, IL. Funeral services held in the Chapel of Summers-Kistler Funeral Home, Noble with Bro. Ed Frost officiating. Burial in Hanna Cemetery, rural Noble.

Mr. Wood was born March 20, 1910 in Richland County, Illinois the son of William and Margaret (Hesler) Wood. He married Bessie Henry Taylor on February 24, 1979.

Mr. Wood was a retired painting contractor in California and a member of the First Christian Church of Noble.

Survivors include his wife, Bessie Wood of Noble; one son, James Wood of San Jose, Calif; one step-son, Dick Taylor of Noble; one daughter, Claudia Madsen of Los Altos, Calif; one sister, Marie Gray of Noble; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Lila Gabini; one brother, Harry and one sister, Evelyn.
