Charles Fahnestock, 84, of Decatur, formerly of Olney, died Saturday, May 22, 1993, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.  Graveside services were held in Maroa Cemetery. J. J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Fahnestock was born March 24, 1909, in St. Louis, the son of Charles II and Emma (Schafer) Fahnestock. He married Florine Williams and she preceded him in death Nov. 7, 1964.

Mr. Fahnestock graduated from Olney High School in 1927. He was a retired letter carrier and also worked at the Illinois Secretary of State Driver's License Facility in Decatur.

Mr. Fahnestock is survived by several neighbors and good friends Marvin and Sandra Hilton of Decatur.

Mr. Fahnestock was preceded in death by his parents, wife, stepdaughter and one brother.
