Lester A. Meadows, Sr., 69, of Grovertown, Indiana died Thursday, June 2, 1977 at Starke Memorial Hospital in Knox. He was ill four years. Services in the Rannells Funeral Home in Hamlet with burial in Grovertown Cemetery.

Meadows was born on March 26, 1908 in Olney, Illinois son of Albert M. and Anna M. (Gaffner) Meadows. He lived in Grovertown 34 years. He was married on December 18, 1965 in Portage, Indiana to Mary E. Peifer.

She survives with three daughters, Mrs. Betty Siroky of Florida, Mrs. Anna Kelpz of Plymouth and Mrs. Arlene Abiney of LaPorte; four sons, Lester Jr. and John both of Grovertown, James of Hamlet and Eugene of California; eight step-children; 43 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Mae McNeil, Mrs. Leliah Brooks and Mrs. Viola Howe all of Olney and Mrs. Rosa Paulson of Wisconsin and two brothers, Glenn and Orville both of Olney, Illinois.
