Herschel E. Fritchley, 68, of Sumner, Illinois, died unexpectedly Thursday, August 11, 1977 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana.

He was born in Parkersburg, Illinois on August 15, 1908 to Charles E. and Daisy M. (Leburn) Fritchley.

He was retired as parts manager of Beasley’s Sales & Service in Sumner. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Sumner.

Survivors are his widow, Hazel (Bare) Fritchley; three daughters, Mrs. Carol Stevens, Lawrenceville, Mrs. Linda Scaggs, Sumner and Mrs. Barbara Caudell, Claremont; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services held at Sivert Funeral Home in Sumner with burial at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersburg, Illinois.
