Reverend Herbert R. Bennett, 91, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away Thursday, July 6, 2000 at his home.

Rev. Bennett was born April 28, 1909 in Macedonia, Illinois, son of  William F. and Nona (Carlton) Bennett. He married Jennifer E. Auckland, and she survives.

He is also survived by a daughter, Patricia (John) Brangle and a son, John H. Bennett.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother; one sister and an infant brother.

Rev. Bennett was a Methodist minister in the Southern Illinois Conference for 68 years, serving several churches in Illinois.

Burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery, McLeansboro, Illinois.
