Walter H. Zimmerle, 82, died on Wednesday February 15, 1989 at Richland Memorial Hospital. Mr. Zimmerle was born December 20, 1906 in Olney, the son of Walter H. and Goldie (Watkins) Zimmerle Sr. He married Mary Davis on December 24, 1929 in Olney. She survives.

He was a past employee with the U.S. Soil Conservation Department.

He was a member of Modern Woodman, Olney Lodge No. 140 A.F.&A.M., Henry Godeke Chapter No. 38, W.R. Lashbrook Council No. 55 and Gorin Commandery No. 14.

Survivors in addition to his wife, are a stepson, Harold of Reed, Colo., three half-brothers, Howard Zimmerle, Peabody, Ark., Melvin Zimmerle, Ohio and Robert Zimmerle, Olney; one sister, Margaret Brady, Ozark, Ark.; two half-sisters, Cleota Bales, Hammond, Ind. and Nancy Tarpley, Olney; two step-granddaughters; two step-great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, five half-brothers and two half-sisters.

Services at Zirkle Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Logan presiding. Burial at Crest Haven Memorial Park.
