Katherine Koertge (White)

Katherine Sarah (Koertge) White, 83, Normal, Illinois, a retired teacher, died Wednesday, January 15, 1992 at BroMenn Lifecare Center, Bloomington, after a prolonged illness.

She was born December 16, 1908 near Parkersburg, Illinois, a daughter of George P. and Della Ridgely Koertge. She married the Reverend Gordon B. White June 7, 1934 on a farm near Parkersburg. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Russell C. White, Millington, N.J. and James B. White, Bloomington; two brothers, Russell Koertge, West Salem and Robert Koertge of Albion; two sisters, Neoma Fishel and Irene Kollak, both of West Salem and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Mrs. White was a member of First United Methodist Church of Normal.

She received her Master of Science in Education degree from Illinois State Normal University in 1963. She taught at Irving and Jefferson grade schools in Bloomington. She also was a substitute teacher at schools in McLean County.

A private family service held at Funks Grove Church with burial at Funks Grove Cemetery.
