Thomas F. Summers, 89, Lawrenceville, died Thursday April 6, 2000 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville.  The body was cremated and burial will take place in St. John Cemetery.

Mr. Summers was born February 8, 1911 in Lawrenceville, the son of Aloysious and Mary B. (Bullock) Summers.  He was divorced.

He was a retired surgeon and had practiced in St. Louis.  He returned to Olney in 1981.  He was a member of the St. Louis Metropolitan Medical Society, Missouri State Medical Society, Moose Lodge and American Legion in Olney and the Catholic Church  He was a World War II veteran.

Mr. Summers is survived by one brother, Robert Summers of Olney and three half-brothers, Dr. John Summers of Sappington, Mo., Eugene Summers of Auburndale, Fla., Paul Summers of Titusville, Fla. and Dale Summers of Sebring, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
